Isabella Lake

Fish: smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pike, walleye
Cottages: Yes

Horseshoe Lake is a beautiful lake with cottages along its shores. Its quite a popular cottage destination because it is a larger lake than most and is close the Hwy 400, the major traffic route into Muskoka. Hwy 400 takes you right to the town of Horseshoe Lake. There is a marina and a canoe drop in point. There are also two campsite areas. One is located near the town of Horseshoe Lake and the other is more remotely located at the south eastern tip of and inlet of Horseshoe Lake. This lake is nice because of all of the points and bays and inlets. The bass fishing is reasonable and its still in the heart of Muskoka cottage country. At the far northern tip of Horseshoe Lake is the Horseshoe Lake Conservation Area. It is accessible best by boat or from the Seguin hiking trail that passes just north of the lake.

Our Lake Ontario list is growing and our goal is to strive to give the most comprehensive list available. If there is a particular lake we missed or you think deserves mention, please Contact Us. We'd love to hear from you.

  • How big is the lake? Are there any campgrounds on Isabella Lake for trailers? How’s the fishing? Is the lake weedy? Ect. Thank-you.
