In Muskoka, life begins just north of Lake Couchiching on Highway 11 and centers around the four major bodies of water, Lake Rousseau, Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka (which by the way comprise one third of the lake surface of the entire Muskoka watershed), Lake of Bays and the three largest towns of Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville.

The southern gateway to the Muskoka Lakes region begins at Gravenhurst which has a rich logging, railroad and steamship history. Here you will begin to see the hundreds of crystal lakes that dot the Precambrian shield landscape.

Just nine miles down Hwy 11 brings you to
the scenic town of Bracebridge – the heart of Muskoka. Nestled along the Muskoka River, it boasts over 22 waterfalls including High Falls, the Niagara of the North.

About 20 miles further north you arrive in Huntsville, the fastest growing municipality in the area. This
beautiful former logging centre is now a prime vacation area and there are over 140 lakes in the immediate vicinity.

These Muskoka Lakes communities offer diverse Festivals all year round that include winter carnivals, and also showcase maple syrup, waterfalls, arts and crafts, antiques, cars and boats and music. The list is long.
