Lake Rousseau

Fish: lake trout, muskellunge, walley, small mouth bass, large mouth bass
Cottages: Yes

Lake Rosseau is another of the big four bodies of water in the Muskoka area and quite possibly one of the most popular recreation lakes. It is located just north of Lake Muskoka and northwest of Bracebridge. The closest town is Port Carling which offers many amenities.

From Bracebridge you can access the southern end of Lake Rosseau from Hwy 118; the west side from Hwy 7 and the north east side from Hwy 141 which will also take you to the town of Rosseau at the far north end. Given its size, number of bays, points and islands iLake Rosseau is a wonderful lake for all water sports and activities, including sailing, water skiing, canoeing, swimming. And even though it is very popular among anglers the fishing is still healthy. Expect to find muskellunge, and good size lake trout. There is also walleye and ofcourse largemouth bass and smallmouth bass.

Our Lake Ontario list is growing and our goal is to strive to give the most comprehensive list available. If there is a particular lake we missed or you think deserves mention, please Contact Us. We'd love to hear from you.
