What could be better than a day on the links golfing at one of the many fine golf courses in the area? Or get really close to nature if you like fishing the many lakes that dot the landscape. Get a bit more physical and hike the many superb hiking trails for peace and serenity or push yourself by hopping on your bike and cycling as hard as you can across the country side. We have a number of great hiking trails and cycling routes to suggest to you as well. And if you are the equestrian type, you’ll be happy to know that some of the trails are good for horseback riding as well.

And of course you can do all of these activities whether you prefer the camping experience or the luxuries of a cozy cottage. Choose from among many campsites or resort cottages.

Winter Recreation Is Fun Too!

It’s easy to think of hot hazy humid summer days in Muskoka and cottage country but the area offers superb outdoor recreation in the winter too. With snow potentially falling in late November through to early May, it’s no wonder active people flock to Muskoka to take advantage of winter activities and cross country ski the beautiful trails, snowshoe or snowmobile. Your best time of year to cross country ski is from late December to the end of March and you can do it on groomed trails or back country treks. Of course, if you prefer to snowshoe your season can stretch from early December to late April.

A Year Round Recreation Paradise

The magic of Muskoka is year round with only a slow down in recreational activities between October/November and April/May. So come to Muskoka summer or winter because there is a lot to do.
