Paint lake is a small lake just south of the town of Dorset near the northeastern end of Lake of Bays. It is also sometimes known as Deer lake and has a small island in the middle. Access to Paint lake is off of Paint Lake Road and Route 117. The first service road around the lake is about 1 km off of Route 117 and it goes around the north waterfront of the lake. The other service road is a couple more kilometers down Paint Lake Road near Maple Ridge. Turn north and it takes you to the west end of the lake. There is some bass fishing and the odd lake trout.
