Skeleton Lake is a larger lake just to the northwest of Lake Rosseau. It is situated between Aspdin Road (Route 3) and Route 141. It is a beautiful lake and not surprisingly there are numerous cottages around the lake and vicinity. Access to the south side of the lake is from Route 141. Take Fish Hatchery Road, Skeleton Lake Road 5, 4, 3 or 2. From the north end off of Aspdin Road, access is from Tribble Road, Stroud Beach Road, or Camp Newport Road. There are lots of islands, bays and points so the fishing can be pretty good. There are two campsites at the north end of the lake. At the south end there are three boat launches and a small marina. Skeleton Lake is also a popular place because of teh variety of things you can do in the area. There area hiking trails at the south west end of the lake. Raymond Trail to the southeast offers is popular for horseback riding and cross country skiing. And to the northeast there are snowmobile trails that start near Parker Lake.
