Big East River Provincial Park

The Big East River provincial park is a small park that occupies most of the shoreline along the Big East River from Algonquin park to Arrowhead park. It is remote but for nature lovers is a perfect place to start a paddling adventure from Algonquin to Arrowhead.

The portage points are tough to spot. You may have to look hard to find the right spot to put in your canoe but tranquility and peace await you once your are on the Big East River. The best put in is at the south end of Distress Dam.

Get there by taking Hwy 8 north from Hwy 60 to Billie Bear Road. Then take Distress Dam Road to the dam.

Our Muskoka Park Maps list is growing, and our goal is to strive to give the most comprehensive list available. If there is a particular Muskoka Park we missed or you think deserves mention, please Contact Us. We'd love to hear from you.
