Georgian Bay Island National Park

Georgian Bay Islands National Park comprises 59 islands scattered throughtout the beautiful Georgian Bay. Access to Beausoleil Island, the largest island is only by boat and the closest launch point is from Honey Harbour. Get to Honey Harbour from route 48 or route 5 from Hwy 400 and then get ready for a scenic trip over the water to the island.

There are many mooring areas at Beausoleil Island or you can beach your canoe or kayak along the shore of some of the water front camping areas. There are 179 campsites among 13 different campgrouds and a visitor centre at the southeast shore of the island. Hiking is excellent as well with over 27 km of trails. Bring a mountain bike if you can because the forest roads make great tours.

The wildlife on the island includes beautiful birds and also is the home to the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake. You may never see this shy snake however but appreciate the beauty of the wonderful Georgian Bay Park.
